Operating system requirements 

• Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 3, Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit) Home Premium or higher, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server 2008
• We do not recommend Windows Vista
• R.O. Writer will not install on older versions of Windows (such as Win 2000, Win 98, etc.)
• Firewall and anti-virus software highly recommended

 

Hardware requirements

• 1.6 GHZ processor or higher
• Minimum 1 gig RAM; minimum of 2 gig RAM for Windows 7
• 6 gigs available hard drive space
• Monitor resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher for Pro and Pro-Lite;
  Express requires a resolution of 1280 x 800 min (touch screen recommended)
• DVD drive (if using the Activant or ALLDATA catalogs)
• Internet access (cable or DSL) required if using: Smart eCat, WHI Nexpart, ACDelco WISEConnect, CARQUEST Weblink, NAPA, WORLDPAC, Autoi, Aconnex, IAP, Central Office or Central Service
• Laser printer (dot matrix printers are not supported)
• Network (if multi-user): 10/100 Ethernet minimum; Gigabit preferred

 

Option hardware requirements

• Integrated credit card processing:  Magtek IPAD (available through PPI)
• Oil static cling sticker printer:  Zebra TLP2824
• Bar code reader:  Symbol LS2208 (corded), Symbol LS4278 (Bluetooth) or like (must be programmable)
• Caller ID:  Whozz Calling? unit from CallerID.com (RS232 serial cable version); serial to USB conversion cable also required
• Electronic cash drawer: MMF model #226-125161872-04 is recommended (other models may work)
